This bass comes in fractional sizes (1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4), and features a fully carved spruce top with maple veneer ribs and back. Its rounded back and sloping da gamba shoulders allow the player easy access to the higher positions, and the hand varnished wood makes it not only a beautiful instrument to look at, but also to listen to. This bass is considered a hybrid because of the combination of a high quality tonewood top, and durable veneer ribs and back. The Spruce tonewood top contributes to a more complex sound, and the veneer sides and back help to stabilize this instrument and increase its durability. Add to this a professionally cut bridge, expert set-up, and strings of your choice, and you have a bass that cannot be beat.
